Many years ago I purchased a WD external drive for my desktop; it’s still going strong. I just purchased a 500GB WD Passport for MAC. My decision was based on the reliability of my old one. I believe WD makes the best external drives going. I wouldn’t purchase any other. :wink:

I’ll second that.
I have been using WD drives for over 5 years and never had a problem with them.
I have 5 drives: Some are !TB and some are 2 TB drives. One is used as Time Machine.
Mine are in constant use for photography - stills and video, and for music - recording and albums for streaming to hi-fi.
I also have copied all my DVDs to HDD and stream them to my home cinema.
All my CDs and DVDs are stored in the loft! what a space saver.
Very reliable machines.
