Best external hard drive for macs

Hello everyone,
I’m a student in my 3rd year of uni studying digital design, which means I can be using one mac one day and a completely different mac the next. Basically I need an external hard drive that will work instantly when connected with a mac instead of having to install software every time I use a different computer. Any recommendations/advice is welcome.

Hi Gujarish,

You can use the WD My Passport for Mac, WD My Passport Ultra for Mac and WD My Book with the Mac.

The WD My Book is a Desktop External hard drive which is formatted in ExFAT that makes it compatible with macOS and Windows both.
