Hello, new MyPassport Wireless user here. I’m having trouble connecting my MPW to my Samsung A5 2017, running on Android 7.0. I can detect the device and connect to its network, but when I try to connect to the device using the MyCloud app, it just says "Unable to access the My Passport Wireless. Check your mobile device’s Wi-Fi settings and make sure you are connected to the My Passport Wireless network. (1004). At first I thought the device had a problem, but I downloaded the MyCloud app on a friend’s iPhone and it connected without any problems. Is the MPW incompatible with Android 7.0 phones? MyPassport Wireless device is compatible to be used with Android 7.0 devices.
Please update the firmware on your My Passport Wireless to the latest version (1.07.02) . Software and Firmware Downloads | WD Support
If issue persists try to reset the MPW device and try to connect it once again
