Connected my passport ultra to my smart TV to look at some files, I then connected back to my PC to find it is now not accessible and am now given a window that states the device is not ready for use. I have tried to restart and reconnect the drive as well as my PC itself and that has resulted in no change, the same has also happened when I have tried to connect it back to the smart TV again showing no result.

It is possible the partition is corrupted. You will have to format the drive in order tu use it again or use a partition repair software. Note that formatting the drive will delete the corrupted partition and also the data stored in it.
