After updating to Mavericks I received the e-mail from WD stating to remove all WD smartware. After doing so my Wd My Book Studio would not mount on my Imac. I was able to mount it on my Macbook pro and dragged the 2 Itunes and 2 Iphoto Libraries over to my Macbook. I plugged my Macbook into my Imac via firewire cable and dragged the libraries back to desktop and after transferring moved them back to their respected places on my Imac. I have managed to get everything back this way. Now using Macbook pro I formatted the disk and now it is recognized by my Imac once again and is working fine. I hope this helps someone since WD wont tell you Squat.
