WD Green SSD TRIM Functionality isn't enabling

I’ve recently purchased a WD Green SSD (120GB) & installed it on my system running on latest Windows 10 Pro FCU. I’ve also installed the WD SSD Dashboard latest version v2.2.0.5 applications in order to enable the TRIM functionality but I am having trouble to get it.

The TRIM function isn’t remaining enabled by default even though I’ve enabled it by checking the check (tick) mark over there & select the automatic run frequency by weekly. I’ve also set the option to start SSD Dashboard with Windows startup.

But, every time I restart/shut down my system, the TRIM checkbox is getting unchecked by default.
I’ve tried uninstalling the SSD Dashboard application & the installed the same freshly a couple of time but the issue persisted.

Then I contact the WD customer care on 29th Dec 2017, case id 122917-12587599, & the technical expert can’t solve my issue on his level over the phone so he just reschedule a call for next day morning from some more technical person. But in the next day, the more technical guy who’ve called me just saying me the option that how to enable TRIM from the WD SSD Dashboard app & select it’s frequency weekly. I told him that I already know how to do that & also I did exactly the same but the problem is it’s not remaining checked or enabled after the system reboot or shutdown. Then he just told me to download the WD SSD manual & refer the page no 8 for setup.

I downloaded the manual & on page 8, it’s the same process what I’ve already done in my attempts to enable TRIM, & got nothing new to solve this issue. I further Emailed them by saying not to close this case & told them to contact me further. But since then, I didn’t get any response, hence here I am posting this issue with hope to get some help that I could use.

FYI, everything is properly installed & up-to-date like Windows Operating system & WD SSD Dashboard app & even the firmware. And I am the only user of my system with Administrator priviled / right.

Honestly there is no reason to even check the TRIM function in the SSD dashboard. Windows 10 will detect an SSD drive and will automatically enable TRIM for any SSD.

here is an article that explains how to check if TRIM is enabled in WIndows using the command line. If for some reason it is not enabled the article also tells you how to enable it using the command line.

I know that Win10 can automatically handle & enable the TRIM functionality & also aware about the method/process that you’ve posted to enabling or checking TRIM, but that’s neither the concerning case/matter here & nor solve the issue I posted.

I am still waiting for a proper resolution of this issue from the WD authority.

Again there is no need to use TRIM in the dashboard. It is a moot point. If TRIM is working via the OS there is nothing for the dashboard to do.

Also this is a user forum not somewhere to get official answers from WD support. If that is what you are looking for contact WD support directly.

As I said, I already contacted WD for this issue, & the case in ongoing. I posted this issue here with the hope of getting any suggestion/help from the users of this forum & yes, I know that this isn’t the place where I will get some official answer.
