Hi. I am trying to get my WD external drive connected to my pc but it is not connecting. It is the kind the plugs into the wall and then connects to the pc via USB. There is a white light on the front but that’s it. This thing has all of my kids pictures on it and I would like to retrieve them. If anyone could help that would be great!! Thanks
What OS are you using and does the drive show in Disk Management? Make sure you are not connecting through a hub or using a cable longer than the original. Plug the power supply directly into the wall instead of a surge protector. Try different USB ports and on a desktop try one on the back they sometimes work better.
