Volume does not contain a recognised file system

Hello. I bought a couple of months ago 2 SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD. I formatted them in exFAT and stored files and folders in them.
after a while I get a message "You need to format the drive before you can use it. The volume does not contain a recognised file system. Therefore I reformatted then again in ExFAT and re-loaded files.
After a while the same problem occurs again, same message, and cant access my file. This happens in both drives.
What can be the problem ? These drives are being used to store jpg photos and RAW photos. Should I avoid formatting in ExFAT ? What do you recomment me to do ?

Hi @fdormoy,

Thanks for the link. I just sent a message to create a Support Case

If you update the USB driver, will the issue be fixed? If the problem persists, you may try the following steps:

1. Run the SFC (System File Checker) Command

It is a Windows built-in tool to scan for and repair corrupted or misbehaving Windows system files.

2. Run the CHKDSK command

Running CHKDSK helps to check and repair hard drive errors and keeps your system data organized.

3. Perform SSD reformat

In case that there are important photos and other documents on the external SSD, use data recovery to recover them first, since formatting will delete all data on the SSD. After the formatting is completed, your SSD should work with no glitch.
