Use 1.5TB My Book without WD software or virtual disk in My Computer

Hi.

I want to use my 1.5TB USB2.0 My Book (WDBAAF0015HBK) without any of the WD software or password etc. At the moment the My Book shows in two places in My Computer, once as a virtual CD drive (about 600Mb) and a second as an external storage drive with the remaining space. I want to delete all the software off the My Book so it just shows like simple external storage drive.

Is this possible? I am running Windows XP.

Hey there, I have one of those drives and I simply use it to copy and paste or drag and drop the files to my drive like it was a memory stick or thumb drive. I just disregarded Smartware but if you do not want to see the VCD for Smartware, the article below might contain the information that  you need to disable the Virtual CD.
