I have a 1Tb My Book essential and would like to just use it for storage of my photographs. The whole backup and retrievql software is cumbersdome and confusing. Can it just be made into a large drive only holding info thata I can click on to open and retrieve as needed like a thumb drive ?
Yes you can just dont install the smartware software and manualy copy and paste items on the drive

Thanks, I will try that. Can it be done after I have backed up part of my computer on it ?..Do I uninstall and start over ?
