Question about my WD book 1TB

So i bought a WD my book essential 1 tb external drive

But my question is: can you just use it like a normal memory stick,(so make a directory on it and put some files on it?)

or do you always have to use the back-up function?

You don’t need to install Smartware unless you’re planning to use Smartware backup and drive lock features.

Yes, you can use your drive as a normal pen drive.
