Unable to set password for my My Passport drive

Hi guys

I have had my drive for more than a year and always have been very happy with it. I would like to set a password for my drive now, but when click on SmartWare application, I see a blank Welcome screen.

I updated firmware and SmartWare both applications today.

I hope someone would be able to suggest why is that?

Go to settings > setup drive > security 

looks like to only installed drive settings and not the full backup utility

There are three menues under the Settings tab

 - File History

 - Retrieve Folder

 - Preferences

Is there supposed to be a menu named Security?

The drive is not been detected by the utility

is the drive connected to the computer?

What OS do you have?

Can you see the drive on disk management or computer?
