Unable to edit music in Fuze 8Gb

Unfortunately, the tags are only as good as the people who put them online in the first place, and there’s no standardization.

Mp3tag is free, and it will make your life a lot easier.

Mp3tag

When you install it,  allow it to add itself to context menus (checkbox while installing), and then you can just right-click on the album folder and have mp3tag open it.

When you first run mp3tag, under Tools/Options, set the default under Tags/Mpeg to Write ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1, the Fuze’s favorite snack.

Then mp3tag does all kinds of useful stuff. With the tracks in order, I always run (under Tools) Auto-Numbering Wizard with Leading Zeros to get the tracks numbered 01,02, etc.  Otherwise the Fuze will go by the first digit and play 1, 11, 12, 2, 21, 22, etc.

With mp3tag you can highlight all the files and change the Artist to be uniform, remove comments, change Genre, all kinds of things to help organize better.

By the way, Windows Media Player does have editing–Library, highlight the file (or files), right-click, Edit. They don’t make it easy to find or use.
