Transferring music

I just got the Sandisk Sansa… was told I would be able to transfer music from Spotify over to it to listen to at the gym, instead of lugging around my iPhone with Spotify. Has anyone ever done this, and CAN you? Need input please!

You were told wrong.

You were incorrectly informed. Spotify is a music streaming service. You cannot use any Sansa mp3 player with it.

I took a quick looks at their site, Spotify. Looks like they have a software that works like itunes. If so, it should work. There’s a free trial too but think that would be out of Sandisk support already.

Why don’t you sign up for the free trtial then and let us know how it works out for you?

If you want to move playlist from spotify to deezer or vice versa then use MusConv tool which i personally tried. It’s a great tool.

Great question — and welcome to the world of little MP3 players like the Sansa! Unfortunately, Spotify itself doesn’t let you directly copy songs onto non‑Spotify devices like the Sansa, because its downloads are encrypted and only playable inside the Spotify app.

What some people do instead is either buy and download the tracks they want from stores like Amazon or iTunes, then transfer those MP3 files to the Sansa — or use a playlist transfer tool like MusConv to copy playlists to another service that supports MP3 export (though keep in mind this won’t convert Spotify’s protected files themselves; it just helps move your playlist data).

If you really want offline files, the safest way is to get the MP3s legally and drag them onto the Sansa using your computer. It’s a bit of an extra step, but the upside is your music is yours forever — and the Sansa is still a great little gym companion without needing your phone!
