i just bought a 8gb and the brightness of the screen is very low compared to the 4 gb i have, is that a known issue?
No. If you can’t adjust it brighter, I’d get a new one under warranty. Unlike a fine red wine or scotch whiskey, it won’t get any better with age. 
I forgot to mention that i have the silver reflected one both the 4gb and 8gb.

Doesn’t matter if they are 24K gold-plated latinum. The new one can still be defective. Take it back.
