I have a WD device on my computer that is backed up by Smartware. It’s getting a bit full, so I thought I’d get another and backup MP3s on one and WAVs on the new one. Can Smartware be configured to backup specific filetypes to specific drives both connected via USB to one computer.
Smartware will only back up the the main hard drive on you computer it cannot be configure to back up secondaries or external drives on the computer. You are able to choose which catogories you would like to back up such as music and movies etc…
Thanks for the reply re backing up 2 hard drives. However this isn’t what I mean. I want to have 2 WD externals taking material from one internal hard drive, but I would like to backup MP3s onto one of the externals and WAVs onto the other using Smartware. I can’t see how I can configure Smartware to differentiate between where it puts filetypes.
You can have two drives backing up one computer, unfortunately, you cannot specify witch file type will be backup, to each drive, as the WD Smartware does not have a file selection option.
You can select to backup only your music, but the WD Smartware will backup all the music of your computer, no matter the extension.
