Since Sandisk no longer produces MP3 players, have any of you found any decent alternatives? If so, what?

I purchased a Clip Sport (SDMX24) almost 10 years ago and this week, it finally began to exhibit problems with things like buttons not working or volume going down completely on its own (as if there’s some kind of hardware issue; it’s even begun to be a hassle powering it off as I sometimes have to fiddle with the power button a couple times before it finally powers down by pressing-and-holding more than once before it finally takes).

I wanted to replace it, but per-usual with every company on Earth anymore, this unit is no longer produced with the company no longer producing ANY alternatives now.

So, I’m curious: Have any of you found any decent alternative MP3 players from other companies? If so, what are they?

I’m old fashioned, so I have to have a standard 3.5mm jack for wired headphones. Otherwise, I’m just a standard user who uses these things during jogs or workouts: I listen to MP3s, sometimes the radio. Charging it up via a separate power unit or PC (either-or) is fine. The easier it is to maintain, the better, but it needs to be capable of enduring use because when I jog or workout at the gym, it can get jostled-around a lot. Because of that, optional Bluetooth would be great but I don’t want to be forced to use only Bluetooth.

Any insights into alternatives would be appreciated.

@wolf_22 Check out MP3 players on Amazon. Many have the 3.5mm jack as well.

@SBrown, you said, “Check our,” but did you mean, “Check out?” Your link just leads to an Amazon search results page for the search term “mp3 player,” which doesn’t really help that much because the whole point of this forum post was to narrow down to an MP3 player that someone might be able to provide a testimony for, and, god willing, be a model that might reflect the same functionality (at a minimum) to the Clip Sport.

You want something that fills the same niche as your old Clip Sport: small, rugged, easy to use, wired headphone jack, reliable for workouts/jogs, with no need for over-complicated “modern” features.
I would suggest Sony Walkman “NW-E390”.

Good lord, you guys are on a roll… First, I get a generic suggestion to click on a link to Amazon’s search page for “mp3 players.” Literally. Because I guess I never tried that… And now, I’m being referred to a player that you can’t even buy on Amazon.

I guess I might as well just give up because clearly this is a niche that nobody seems to accommodate. Par for the course.
