I have an HP Stream 8 tablet that I upgraded to Windows 10.
Thought it would be wise to create recovery media and went out and bought a pair of these dual drives.
Recovery creation software wanted them re-formatted in NTFS.
32GB ended up around 28GB (not too surprising), but 64GB ended up at about 32GB (very surprising).
I know NTFS is not recommended for USB (they were exFAT), but should I be concerned about this?
After creating the media, it appears I only needed 1GB (without files) and 3GB (with files) - so I may re-purpose them.
Is there anything special about recovery media - can I just copy it to a lower capacity USB stick?
If I reformat the USB sticks, will I get the capacity back?
Does it matter if it’s Windows 7, 10, 32-bit or 64-bit?
Thanks.
