After a few months I have the error that
BIOS shows the Sandisk SSD Plus 480GB as Sandisk Milpitas, with 16kb of storage.
No SMART available.
Testet on Win, Linux, different PCs.
How to recover data?
Linux testdisk sees C/H/S only 1 cylinder!
Mine SSD happened the same thing! Do you had success in recovery?
could you save your data ? i have the same problem
no and even worse, it was the boot disc with all the data
Hey @farukfrromadana
It is indeed a tough situation, especially if it was your main boot drive with all the data. Before jumping to any solution, if @ewisan can share what all steps he has tried so far, it would be easy for all of us to troubleshoot this issue.
Steps like:
- Have you checked it on any other system or tried using Linux tools like TestDisk or GParted?
- Does it show up in Windows Disk Management or Linux with
lsblk
?
If you share the steps you’ve already taken, it’ll be easier to figure out what to try next—and might also help others who run into the same issue later.
yes i have checked with linux it says 16 kb multipas. SSD dont show any data and his real volume. I dont wanna lose my 5 year data
did u send any data recover company bro ?
Hey @farukfrromadana,
Since Linux shows only 16 KB, that usually means the SSD controller isn’t exposing the real storage anymore. Normal tools like TestDisk or GParted won’t help in this case.
-
Don’t write anything to the SSD.
-
Check if BIOS/
lsblk
still shows the correct 480 GB model/serial. -
If it only reports 16 KB everywhere, it’s likely a controller failure.
At that point, recovery is only possible with professional labs (chip-off recovery). If the data is very important, that’s the safest option.
