Hi
I just purchased Sandisk Extreme USB 3.0 pendrive and i get read speed of just 39 mbps.
I tried formatting in various filesystem like NTFS, FAT32, exFAT etc, but same 39 mbps.
My configuration
core i7 ( 3rd generation ) , 8GB RAM, 5400 RPM hDD.
Even write speeds are around 40 mbps.
Are your USB ports 3.0? If you plug a 3.0 flash drive into a 2.0 port, you won’t see any speed advantage.
Definetely, that’s the issue. But knowing that it’s i7, it should be a USB 3.0 already. Can you verify this? Also, try this on another computer just to isolate the issue. <img src=“https://imagicon.info/cat/5-43/16x16_smiley-happy.gif ”/>
well, yes i am on USB 3.0 port.
Here are the crystal disk benchmark :-

Read Speed : 30 mb/s and write speed : 28 mb/s
I certainly do not expect such slow speeds because even my USB 2.0 pendrive performs faster than that .!
I am curious whats the name of the USB 2.0 pen drive that performs better ?
it is transcend.
However it is just because my USB 3.0 Sandisk pendrive is slow, nothing else.
