To resolve this issue, you can adjust your Mac’s Energy Saver settings. Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Apple menu and select System Settings > Lock Screen.

  2. Set “Start Screen Saver when inactive” to Never.

  3. Set “Turn display off on battery when inactive” to Never.

  4. Set “Turn display off on power adapter when inactive” to Never.

In addition, external hard drive issues can cause the “Disk Not Ejected Properly” notification to pop up. To address this, use Disk Utility and run First Aid to detect and fix any disk errors.

If the problem continues, try resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) to stop the alert from showing up repeatedly. As a final option, you can reformat the external SSD. ( Further reading: How to Stop Repeated ‘Disk Not Ejected Properly’ on Mac )
