Sandisk CruzerFit 16Gb - Factory Content restore

Hello!

I formatted the flash drive and lost factory data/applications that came with the flash drive.

Normally I wouldn’t be bothered but ever since then it has been working extremely slow with transferring files.

What are the steps to “factory restore” my flash drive? (If it has , indeed, anything to do with the slowness)

Thank you

What are the steps to “factory restore” my flash drive?”

Things known: Flash drive was initially formated as FAT32.

Things unknown: What format the flash drive is now, what OS you’re running, what you used to format it, what apps were on the drive initially, why you formatted the new flash drive.

Thank you for answering.

The flash drive is now NTFS, I suspect I did that for trasferring big files over 4 gb.

I am running windows 7 64bit ultimate.

I formatted it using windows format tools (right click -> format).

I don’t remember what apps came with the drive, the model is CruzerFit 16Gb, I suppose they come with the same apps.

I don’t know what I miss out for not having those apps I deleted, But I mostly worry about the files trasnfer speed.

The only valid reason for doing so IMO.

The app most likely is SanDisk’s SecureAccess app.  It can be downloaded and copied to the USB drive if you want to restore it.  It is good for securing files you want to limit access to.  It is not good for securing everything.  It will not make your USB drive faster.

Things that will make your USB drive faster:

 FAT32 - less overhead

 USB ports 2.x or 3.x

Setting Windows’ Removal Policy for the drive to Better Performance.  Requires ALWAYS using Windows’ Safely Remove function when removing the drive.

 Buying a more expensive model.
