I know you can do better on the net for an off brand memory card with larger capacity - but for the price - if anybody wants to pick up some Sandisk memory without shipping charge for a reasonable price - I thought I’d pass along the info. Saw it in Sunday’s ad.
**** click accepted solution to get the details on how to get the deal. Not sure how long the coupon code is valid for - but it’s working today ****

Despite it being a very bright hot humid sunny summers day here in Brisbane I rushed down to the local Office Max to pick one up for my son. They didn’t have any, never have the guy told me and they would certainly not sell a $149 MP3 player for 13 bucks.
Are you sure? Was it in the Courier mail you saw this ad?
Hazza, it seems Fireball is talking about an expandable memory card, not a Fuze itself.
However, Fireball never actually makes it clear where exactly the memory is selling for $13. Maybe its just in his area, and Fireball never makes it clear where they live.

It was a sarcastic reply to point out that on an international forum such as this it is worse than pointless to tell people about a local ad, yes it might be an ad in a paper that goes nationwide IN AMERICA but as far as I am concerned sitting here in Australia, it’s a local ad.
I found it in Page 2 of the weekly ads. You can find your local ad online at officemax.com. I figured it was a national thing b/c of the Retailer. I live in Chicago area.
I got an email this morning - where you can pick up a 4 gb sandisk for 9.99 - Free shipping - with SD card adapter in my email today. Here’s the link.
Coupon Code = SUPER40 - i just tried the code and it’s working. and the price should be 9.99 shipped with the SD card adapter. I’ve shopped at this online vendor 4 or 5 times and with no problems.

It probably is IF you lived in America. You do realise that the USA is not the center of the universe and other countries actually do exist, the news channel does not just make them up.
I got that gist too. Most forums cater to an international audience, especially ones about an item sold around the world, like Sandisk’s products are.
I don’t hang out at many forums. The few that I do visit - do cater to a local market. I guess I’ll chalk that up to an - OOPS - my bad!! I was just trying to help others on the board save a few dollars.

Damm! I just picked up two of these at my local OfficeMax store here in sunny California after your news-flash. Yes, they were $12.99 so it is a national ad.
But then I noticed you can pick them up on E-Bay for $7.99 + free shipping!
Oh well, I got them today. I don’t have to wait for shipping. And 13 bucks isn’t that bad a price.

Yeah - I have seen those bulk item sales on Ebay and even Amazon (probably from same resellers as those who advertise on Ebay ) - but I don’t know if they’re SanDisk or not. It wouldn’t be difficult to get a knock off brand of memory - and screen some kindof ink label on it and call it Sandisk without any packaging.
I like my Fuze - and don’t mind giving more business to Sandisk b/c of it if I can find a good deal on their memory.

I admire that you wanted people to know about a good bargin but please don’t forget to put it into context. eg
“I saw an ad for 4G microSD cards that Office Max in America is selling them for $12.99. I don’t know if it is a national price or just the local one in New York”
Fair dinkum! The known Universe doesn’t rotate around New York, but Ayers Rock might have something to do with it.
I have wanted to pop on down for years, even had a friend want to show me around NZ…before I began a family. Now I’ll need to bring my wee beasties with me.
While he was in the Navy, my brother fell in love with Australia, after living here in crowded California.
Cheers!
Bob :smileyvery-happy:
Oh, and now for a word from our sponsor, more on-topic. I just picked up a few spare 2GB cards at Office Depot, $7.99, in person. Never can have too many of those!

My local Office Depot is going out of business, I was able to get a 2 gig clip for $15 ( my back up) and 3 microsd’s (4 gig a piece) for $21(They are Sandisk brand) do in total I payed less than $100 including tax. As much as I hate that people lose their jobs, I love going out of business sales!
Edit: And oh yeah Hazza this is in Perrysberg OHIIO.

OfficeMax also had these for the same price, $7.99 (today in California).
I can’t help but notice that the Sandisk forum presumes GMT+8, aka, California, USA as the default. So anything outside the Pacific Time zone should perhaps fully specify the locale.
“this is in Perrysberg OHIO.”
Is that a province in Canada? A Mexican state? Perhaps a rural district of Chile? Does the Perry refer to the famous polar explorer, so perhaps Antarctica? You’ll need to narrow that down for international guests.

Actually Sholleran if you go to My profile at the top of the page and then go to prefrences there is an option to change timezones. And thats the city of Perrysberg, state of OHIO, Country of United States, Planet of Earth. Full enough?! (Ok Im just kidding. If you really wonder you could google it or check my profile to see that I am from Toledo Ohio which is the closest major metropolitian area, and google that)
