Questions about Clip+ and Fuze (Clip+ vs Fuze)

Hello

I am going to buy either an 8GB Clip+ or 4GB Fuze and 8GB microSD. I read a lot of Clip+ vs Fuze topics, many reviews, but this didn’t get me anywhere, I’m still not sure which one would be better for me. You would help me a lot if you answered my questions. Even though this is Clip+ subforum, and I guess most of you have Clip+ or it’s your personal favorite, please be fair with me about both of players.

  1. Which has better battery life? How will it change over few years? What if I mostly listen to FLAC?

  2. Which has better included earplugs?

  3. Does rockboxed Fuze sound better than rockboxed Clip+? I heard that Fuze gets better EQ.

  4. Fuze has proprietary USB connector. Does that mean i will have to buy something additionaly to connect it to pc?

  5. I’ve seen users comments about both of players in review comments. There were a lot of people who were unhappy with Fuze because " it doesn’t work, doesn’t connect to pc, i got white screen" etc. etc. while no one mentioned something like that about Clip+. Is Fuze really much likely to get out of order or it is just because more tech newbs like Fuze?

  6. I’m into listening binaural beats. Is Fuze and Clip+ with default earplugs enough for this task? (question is probably for those who also listen to binaural beats)

  7. Which version (V1, V2) of both players is better and why? How to know the version of player before buying it? Can all of them be rockboxed?

  8. Will this wall charger be ok with Fuze or Clip+? http://www.acme.eu/en/catalog/chargers_and_rechargeable_batteries/battery_chargers/acme_charger_ak03_for_mp3_mp4_players/

  9. 4GB Fuze or 8GB Clip+ (both with 8GB microSD) ?

That’s all for now. Answering these questions would probably save me from sleepless nights I have when thinking about which player to choose  Thanks

p.s. Sorry for my English

ahh stupid me, first question should have been "What is the real battery life of both of them. On paper it’s 24h and 15h, but id like to know what’s it like for real.

Thanks much for answers, I think I’ll go for Fuze… even tho I like Clip+ very much too. Maybe some day I will have both

Note that the major difference between the 2 player is the physical size. The Clip+ is literally half the size of the Fuze (although a little thicker because of the clip).

The Fuze has a much larger (and full color) LCD screen and can play videos. It also displays album art of the track you are listening to at the time (and a little thumbnail in the album lists if you want). The Clip+ with its much smaller OLED 2 color screen does not display album art nor does it play videos.

I mention this as there are a lot of people who are very passionate about album art and this 1 point could be a deal maker or breaker for them. Others couldn’t care less.

If you listen to FLAC, those battery times will go down considerably compared to the on paper specs.

And even if you play .mp3 files. Just like posted gas mileage on new cars, “real-world” results are considerably less than published expectations/estimates.

I guess then longer battery life makes up for that 4GB loss.

Can anyone suggest me some good cheap earbuds? Is Creative EP-630 (~20$) worth getting or I should save for something better? I mean is there a big SQ difference between 20$ and lets say 70$ earbuds? Or maybe I should stick to included ones?

(sorry for posting in Clip+ forum but I don’t think it’s worth to create a topic for such question)

Is A-DATA MICRO SDHC 16GB CLASS 2 an ok card for Fuze? How long will it take to upload 16gb music on it?does it affect ‘refreshing your media’ time? Is class 2 enough for playing FLACs?

Is A-DATA MICRO SDHC 16GB CLASS 2 an ok card for Fuze? Yes, but SanDisk would be better.

How long will it take to upload 16gb music on it? More than a minute, less than a year.

does it affect ‘refreshing your media’ time? Yes.

Is class 2 enough for playing FLACs? Yes.

And believe it or not, every one of your questions has been asked & answered before numerous times, so there really no need to post anywhere. Just look (and/or search).
