Problem with removing/deleting of files

I have a problem with removing some of the files from my Passport device.

I get the following announcement:

“Error 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable”

Is there a way to bypass that and delete the file from the disk?

Hi,

May be there could be read/write error on the drive . try reformatting the drive and then transfer and back up the files

Which might solve the problem.

I had the same problem. First I did a scandisk and it fixed the MFT of the file system. Then I run a full check using SmartWare and Windows Scandisk and it found no physical problems.

With luck, the damaged files will be located at a directory called “found.xxx”.
