I have a 1TB WD drive and have changed the CPU board as the USB port broke. By changing the CPU board, the PC detects that it has been connected, it can eject the disk. In Device Manager it also detects it but in Computer, it does not appear.
If I go where to partition or initialize the disk, it won’t let me initialize.
Do you know what can happen? the disk was working properly but the USB port bent a few pins and I couldn’t fix it. I have changed the CPU board (same P / N) and now this happens to me.
As you said while initializing the drive it shows an MBR boot error. To repair such an error you can try the bootrec.exe command, which is available with four options namely as:
/FixMbr – To repair the corrupt or damaged boot sector.
/FixBoot – To write a new boot sector.
/ScanOs – To add missing windows installation to the boot configuration data.
and, /RebuildBcd – To rebuild the boot configuration data.
If you wish to recover data from such a drive then you must need the help of a data recovery software that allows you to recover your corrupted/lost or deleted drive partition. Here, I suggest you to try Stellar Data Recovery Professional Software to recover your corrupted partition drive. The software comes with a feature called ‘ Can’t Find Drive ’ to scan the hard drive for missing partitions and recover the underlying data in just a few clicks.
