I purchased a 1 TB My Passport Essential SE. The package was taped so I think it might have previously been purchased and returned. I apparently successfully installed the drivers on my laptop, however I do not see the device showing up on ‘MY COMPUTER’. The light goes on the hd and I can feel it spinning so I know there is power, but apparently it’s not being recognized.
A friend told me that perhaps there is a password that was put on the hd that needs to be removed. Can someone direct me on how to proceed?

First Of All In This Case If You Are Using A Laptop Computer I Recommend You To Try With A Desktop PC And Connect It To The Back USB Port If The HDD Its Working Fine After You Try That, The Problem Its That The HDD Its Not Receiving Enough Power With The Laptop So U Will Need a Power Boost Cable Calling To WD Support
About The Password:
If The Problem Its That The HDD Have a Password And You Dont Know It, After You Try 5 Time With The Wrong Password Will Give You An Option To Reformat The Drive, Try That. This Its The Only Way To Start Using The Drive Againg
