My ebook essential is not copying the latest data off of my laptop after the windows 10 upgrade. I can see everything that was there before the upgrade, but the device is not doing what it did before. it used to copy exactly what was there deleting and adding things that had been deleted or added since the last time it was connected. Now it doesn’t do anything except act as an external hard drive.
How were you copying your files into your unit? The WD My Book Essential does not add files on its own without a backup application handling the process. Were you using WD SmartWare? Or were you using a different backup utility?
If you were using WD SmartWare, have you tried updating the application to the latest version?
