I have an old My Book Essentials Edition 2.0. I tried to use it on my Windows 10 PC only to find that it will not be recognized. Is there anything I can do, or, if I need a new external harddrive, how do I get things from my old one to a new one. I’d prefer a 6TB or 8 TB for a new one.
I know the old drive still works because I have an old working xp computer that I tried it on.

Did you try the new drive on the old computer to see if it is recognized? That would eliminate the problem being in the drive.
As for the new computer with Windows 10, many others are having a similar problem. Try to troubleshoot the problem on the new computer using windows support. And search WD Knowledge Base.and the Internet. I think sometimes the problem is due to wrong or not up to date drivers.
