I was using my wd passport when suddenly it went undetected. Then I try to initialize it but the system says fatal hardware error. It was marked unknown, with 0bytes of capacity, and even after I tried formatting the disk with command prompt it stayed the same. I have really important files inside and I’m now in the middle of a project, with the end of terms coming too. Does anyone one knows how to save it or at least recover the corrupted data? Oh I ran the recoverit scan and there are some files that are placed in lost location, but when I preview them it says overwritten data or corrupted data. It’s a real mess to be honest.
To be very honest, the overwritten data can not recovered even not with the help of a of data recovery software. However, their is no harm in trying trial versions of data recovery software’s as they allowed to preview recoverable data without paying for them. I do personally like Stellar free data recovery software as it is available for free and give opportunity to save recoverable files up to 1 GB.
But even with Stellar it can’t detect my drive
