Hi,

I have 1 TB WD My Passport portal hard drive since last 3 years. It was working fine till few days back. But today I have noticed that I am not able to open the drive and view the files in it. In Control Panel → Computer Managent… I see Disk 1 Unknown 931.48 GB Not Initialized. Its Un allocated. I am not sure how to recover the data. Can you please help me in recovering the data?

Is you drive password protected?

As you told that the drive is not initialized, so in order to access the drive you have to initialize the drive and that process will format the drive and the data would be lost. Only way to recover the data is to contact the data recovery company and get the data recovered.
