WD passport corrupted maybe?

I am sure this is similar problem anywhere. this happens when i tried to scan my Wd usb external Hd with the computer antivirus. After finishing the scan, the antivirus froze and i terminate the program with force (yes, in the end i unplug the usb). Later, when i try to plug in again, the hd would not show in my computer and also not shown in disk management. I believe the data is still there, but the path mayb corrupted (?). i am absolutely clueless in these computer terms, but i try several online guide, however the problem is still not solved.

Mayb its already dead end in my part :cry:  but hopefully i want the data to be recovered. I wonder if professional help like recovery software can help retrieve the data or mayb it is hopeless after all?

FYI, i own the device for almost 2 years, i dun think the waranty still covers anyway.

Hello,

It may be possible to still extract the data utilizing data recovery software. Western Digital does not provide data recovery software. However, there are several kinds of Data Recovery software available. If you do a web search for Data Recovery it will yield plenty of data recovery software options.

Thank you for the reply. I already try several recovery software, but they did not scan any files on the disk. I wonder what happen.

Before unlocking, the hd appeared in the disk management as unreadable local disk with unallocated space of 460 GB (the full capacity of the passport). But once it is unlocked, the disk  totally dissapear.  I have try partition wizard, it recognized the disk as bad disk and status as lost/deleted, no action can be done perhaps.  I wonder is the data is still there or it has really been swipe away.
