Start by verifying whether your SanDisk microSD card is detected in Disk Management. Right-click the Windows Start button and choose Disk Management from the list. After the window loads, check the bottom panel to see if your microSD card is displayed there.
If you can see the card but it doesn’t have a drive letter (for example, F: or G:), right-click on it and select Change Drive Letter and Paths. Then assign an available letter to make it accessible in File Explorer.
If the microSD card is missing from Disk Management entirely, the issue may be caused by a faulty card, reader, or connection. In this situation, you can try several fixes, such as checking your BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure the port is enabled, reinstalling or updating the USB drivers, or running the built-in CHKDSK tool to scan and repair possible file system errors. First, test it with a different card reader, adapter, USB port, and computer. Many times, the adapter fails, not the card. On Windows, open Disk Management and check if the card appears as Unallocated, RAW, or without a drive letter. If it shows there, recovery may still be possible. Do not format it if you need the data. If the card does not appear at all on any device, it likely hasa hardware failure or controller damage. In that case, software recovery usually will not work, and professional recovery may be required.
