My passport

The problem I had with a bad My Passport was escalated. An email to me from WD was quckly received asking for contact info. A reply was sent the same day and within 2 days I received a call from WD in Hong Kong to verify info and was promised I would be contacted next week. I bought the passport in the US but am now living in the philippines. I have almost never received such a quick response in my life. So far WD has gone way beyond my expectations and is to be highly commended. Thank you and kudos to WD.

Awesome, good to see everything is going fine.

Problem with the HDD hasn’t  been solved yet but the fact that WD has responded so quickly is a great start.

The week has passed and the promised call never came. I hope WD Staff lives up to my expectations. I sent an email with the case number and am waiting for a reply.

Was hoping to hear from Support. Sent a follow-up 3 days ago and was told I would hear from support in 24-48 hours. Haven’t heard anything yet. Guess my hopes were too high and am now stuck with an expensive paperweight. Won’t be recommending WD anytime soon.

Heard from WD Support yeterday. They set up an RMA to their Manila servicing company and told me that once they receive the bad drive from me they’ll send the replacement drive within 3 weeks. Sent the drive today via  a courier service with a delivery date of tomorrow. (14 Feb 2014). Drive was purchased in the US but am now living in the Philippines. Was initially informed that the warranty was not valid here in the Philippines as it wasn’t bought here. WD changed my warranty region to make it valid here. We’ll see what happens next.

What is wrong with Western Digital? Sent in my drive with an RMA last week. Went to check on the status of the RMA and under history etc is says none listed therefore I can’t check on the status.

Received a replacement drive today. Thank you WD in Makati, Philippines. Registered it and checked on the warranty and it said out of limited warranty. On the back of the drive it says “Recertified in Malaysia”. Is this a new drive or is it a refurbished one? If it’s new why is it saying “Out of Limited Warranty” when I had a year left on my original warranty?
