Don’t know if anybody else has the same problem. Disk Usage Statistics (Capacity) doesn’t show the right data. After I saved many big files from my SD-card (Sandisk) the WD app keep showing that I have 2TB of free space. The files are really saved on the drive. I also update to the latest firmware (v1.04.06)
The data shown are not accurate on the iPhone App as well as on my Macbook (via browser)…
That is what I thought initially. Until I realised that the drive is 2TB, that is, 2,000,000 MB, and even “many” 20MB RAW image files don’t add up to all that much really.
The MPW Dashboard for example shows space usage of the drive in TB, to one decimal place. That is, the first time you will see a reduction in free space is when the free space drops to 1.9TB, or 1,900,000 MB. That is, until you have used 100,000 MB, it won’t show you any reduction in free space. Actually it does seem to round down to one decimal, so when it drops below 1,950,000 MB it would show 1.9TB free.
100,000 MB is equivalent to 5,000 x 20MB image files. 50,000 MB is 2,500 image files.
How many images have you actually loaded onto the MPW, and what are their average size?
Connect your MPW to a PC via USB, or connect it to your wireless network, and take a look at the actual files you have loaded on to it. You will see that the MPW is acurately reporting usage statistics.
