I have a 500 GB My Passport Ultra and when I plug it into my PC, it does not get assigned a drive. The PC sees that its there in the printers and devices list and it even gives me the option to eject it, but it is not assigned a drive so that it can be explored and “opened”. I installed the WD Drive Utilities and the Drive Status Check says, “SMART status failed.” This drive has literally thousands of pictures which were added to it as backup and the other original files are all gone. If this drive failed, I’ve lost a lot of irreplaceable stuff. Please help
