Yeah, you probably corrupted a bunch of data on the drive if you pulled the cable out as you imply. If you don’t care about the data, you can go into Disk Management and delete the partition and re-partition and format the drive. There instructions for how to do this in the link below.
Just remember from now on, always safely remove the drive. If you can’t then you need to shut down your pc to remove the drive. However, restarting it will flush the cache for you anyway, and you can retry what you were wanting to do.
