well i can hook it up to its charger but the second i take it off, it turns right off, and my computer cant recognize it, what do i do?
Did your Clip have a fall recently? A lead to the battery could have come undone (a known issue). You also could try putting the player into hold and then connecting to your computer while holding the center button down–this sometimes can work.
I assume this is an original Clip and not the Clip+.
