My Book Essential on a Network?

Can I hook up a My Book Essential with USB to my home newtwork or does the drive have to be MADE specifically for use on a network? I am using both WinXP and Win7 with Linksys.

Hi, if your Linksys router supports the option to share USB devices it should work.

Hi I’m using a Motorola SBG900 SURFboard Wireless Modem and I don´t know if it supports this. I made a mistake when buying the External Hard Drive. I want to create a personal cloud storage and the right drive was My Book Live. Unfortunately I selected My Book Essential and now I’m trying to configure the drive in the cloud. Has someone achieved to make it work like this? Thanks!
