My Book Essential 3TB Not in Finder

Hi,

My My Book Essential 3TB external drive connected via USB is no longer showing up in Finder after upgrading to Mavericks. I’ve read about the issues surrounding Mavericks, however most seem to be with the drives showing up as empty, whereas mine doesn’t appear at all.

Once it appeared in Disk Utility, however I ejected it in an attempt to get it to mount and now I’m stuck with it not appearing at all. Here’s the log from DU:

Did you check if the drive works with another computer with an earlier OS?

Hi John, thanks for your reply. Since my original post I did indeed check it with another computer that hasn’t yet upgraded and it did work.

Good.

This means the drive is still functional and the problem is with the new OS.

As you might now, when a new OS is released we need to wait for updates so our current devices can work with the new technology.

This appears to be the case on this one.

Uhmmmm, you had copies of Mavericks months and months BEFORE it was released for testing.

What is “NEW” for users, is NEVER supposed to be NEW for vendors.
