MP3 ID3v2.4 UTF-8 & OGG tags Bug reports

Hello!

There is a bug in the 01.01.29 firmware (only one I’ve checked):

If you use mp3 with ID3v2.4 UTF-8 tag the tag seen as if it was encoded with ISO-8859-1 (latin),

meaning althow I encoded Hebrew I see latin lettes (aeiou with signs)

If I use ID3v2.3 UTF-16 tag I see the Hebrew tag correctly.

ID3v2.4 is a standard and default on many linux and windows programs. Please fix this bug in the next firmware.

it would also be nice to have an option to choose the default encoding for non-unicode tags (as for now it’s only ISO-8859-1)

OGG Vorbis files with tags (UTF-8, which is the standard) : tags are not read at all by the sansa clip.

Thank you.

The issue with the OGG Vorbis tags is a known bug.  The problem is that the Clip only recognizes the tags if they are all uppercase.  For now you can try changing the tag fields to upper case like so: “ARTIST=The Artist”, “TITLE=The title string”, etc.

Shalom

Thanks.

Any comment about the other bug ?
