I bought a Clip+, charged it for 4 hours, then tried to use it. First problem was that only one of the earphones was working. But the real problem was this – the Clip+ was trying to find an FM radio station, but no matter what buttons I pushed, it wouldn’t do anything else. There was no menu working. The display only showed an icon of earphones, the word Music and a battery icon. That’s all. It was a non-functioning device that I paid $50 for. So I returned it and got a replacement. Still no relief. The second one didn’t work the same as the first, except there wasn’t even any FM radio working. I had read such good reviews of the Clip+ that I’m thinking there must be some explanation. Otherwise, it looks like some dollar-store piece of junk from China. I asked a question on the Sandisk feedback page, but nobody has replied. I’ll wait a couple of days here to see if anyone can help before I give up completely and return the Clip+ for the last time and go shopping for a music player that actually works. Any ideas?

There’s a screen protector on the display with a picture of headphones on it that’s difficult to see. Was that removed?
And no, the clip+ isn’t a piece of junk, I’ve had my clip+ for about a year and it works great!
Peel the protective sticker off the top?

That’s it! Thanks, mags1230. Actually, I had a look at that early in the process, thinking it might be the problem, but it didn’t look like a film over the screen, and when I scraped at it a little with my fingernail, it didn’t peel off. I didn’t want to scratch anything, so I gave up. I look a little stupid of this, I know, but maybe Sandisk could add a note in the manual about removing the screen protector as a first step. (In their next device, I suppose, since the Slip+ might not be around forever.)
That screen protector with a picture of headphones on it is so silly! Why don’t they use a plain clear screen protector, so people could use the player with it left on?

I think that’s a super, green, and consumer-friendly idea!
And if SanDisk feels the need to show how the screen looks in the product packaging, simply put that on the cardboard packaging.
I don’t think the Clip+ needs a screen protector at all…whether it is glass or some kind of super-plastic, mine has never picked up any scratches. And it has been dropped many times, too.
Marvin, you just have the luck of the Irish–with my electronics, if I breathe on them, they get scratched. Manufacturers–and accessory case sellers–love me . . . .

Well, there are some scratches on the player, but mainly on the clip itself, which the player sits on when I set it down. But the screen seems quite tough to me.
