I have a WD My Passport 0748 1TB external Hard Disk that stopped working due to input/output drive error. and it is locked with WD security. I tried taking it to the local IT store to recover the data, but no luck. ( PS, they opened the casing, so warranty is void).The light on the HD turns on. The Hard Drive is recognized. But it does not show up on Windows Explorer (windows 10). I’ve read a number of forum posts regarding the issue but still i cant solve the problem. please help me hot to solve this error without erasing the data.

Normally, the I/O error is related to a connection issue. It could be a cable or either the connection on the drive or the connection on the PC.
Although, the warranty was voided, try contacting WD Support to see if there’s anything that they can recommend or a different data recovery center that might be able to help you.
