I have a new computer at home and has been experiencing problems with my Sansa Fuze since.
I have checked as many postings in this forum, sorry if this has been answered, I haven’t seen it…
I added new albums to my music list and it is not working. I did as I always did before, i.e., I used Windows Media, I took an album and put it in the Fuze section, then I clicked on “Synchronize”. The message that appeared was that sync has been done successfully, and that I could unplug my Sansa player, which I did. The album and songs appear in my list, on my Sensa. BUT… When I try playing the songs, I hear nothing and I see the song numbers displaying very fast. Let’s say there are 10 songs in the album, I will see 1/10… 2/10… 3/10… and so on until it reaches 10/10 then it goes back to 1/10…
I thought I did something wrong so I erased ALL my albums and I’m now unable to put back any music on my player.
Someone knows how to solve this?
I checked, I’m in MSC mode. I just got a new PC with Windows 7.
Thanks in advance for your kind help! I’mleaving for a 2-week vacation in 10 days, if you could help me solve this problem before I leave, it would be much appreciated!!!

With WMP, use MTP mode. If you’re using MSC mode, drag and drop from windows explorer.
Why these misconceptions^^ are perpetuated as the absolute and only truth mystifies me. You can use WMP in MSC mode…I did it for months, last year. You can also drag and drop in MTP mode, if you choose to. I am not suggesting everyone should use WMP…not at all. Drag and drop is indeed better with MSC mode… for the most part.
For example…lets say Joe Blow wants to drag and drop a bunch of tunes onto his Fuze, and some of them came from iTunes (m4a) …MSC will copy them over , no sweat, but they still won’t play. In MTP, you’ll get a message telling you those files aren’t supported, or they simply won’t transfer, as I discovered the other day when I accidentally tried to add an album to my player from the FLAC folder , instead of the WMA folder. Now given the choice, I do prefer MSC…but MTP is not the pimple on the butt of humanity that some people think it is.
There was probably a setting amiss somewhere within WMP that caused the OP’s problem. It has some settings that are kind of hidden amongst the menus.
I personally gave up on WMP11, with my old XP computer, as eventually WMP just stopped cooperating with me. Now that I have WMP12, I still won’t use it with my players. After installing a codec pack, it will play any audio file I have,FLAC, MP3, WMA, OGG,or even M4A… but it still isn’t as good for my music needs as MediaMonkey. I only use WMP12 for playing the few m4a files I have, and watching DVD’s. My podcasts, and every other music file, and my portable players, are handled with MediaMonkey.
They may not be absolute truths, but they are the way to explain things to newbies.
People want something that works. They don’t want a nuanced explanation of how you could do it this way or that way if you really wanted to, and had all your codecs installed, and felt like trying alternatives.
The OP put the music on with WMP and wanted to do so again. The easiest way to do that is with MTP mode.
The easiest way to use MSC is drag-and-drop.
That’s an interesting exception about the m4a files, but not really germane here.

I would like to think that people might prefer a detailed explanation, instead of a dumbed-down over-simplification…are you saying I expect too much from my fellow forum members?
And how exactly is WMP simpler in MTP than MSC? My Sansas were never in MTP, so I’m all ears, if you have an explanation.

Some do, some don’t. It can’t hurt to have both perspectives.
You seem overly emotional about this for a guy who has abandoned WMP. Do you really want to know?
My sansas (Fuze, View and Clip) don’t really have consistent behavior with regards to MTP, MSC and WMP. They seem to change their minds about modes and interactions every 1-2 weeks. I don’t know why. WMP seems to be more reliable with MTP.

Yes, I really am curious. I am aware that MTP mode can be easier fo making playlists with MTP, so maybe that is what Black-Rectangle was referring to?
