How to upload videos on sansa fuze - sansa media converter

I am struggling with the issue of 49% as well.  Very small videos do convert fine.

I am using a converter to convert to WMV.

I have plent of room on my Fuze.  3GB.   I have tried several videos ranging from 10MB to 17MB.

I have updated my firmware, downloaded the lastet version of SMC.

After reading posts here, I have also downloaded and installed Quicktime and the K-Lite Code Pack.

I have rebooted my computer.

I still get stuck at 49%.

Does anyone have any other ideas for me?

Just to try a different file type to start out with. Try making an AVI and then use SMC.

Try mpeg2 (.mpg) for the longer vids

it seems to work well and only takes about 20mins for a 2 hour movie

I am also free of all my problems! Thank You!

dont use the media converter just drag and drop.

Though that may be fine for the View , the Fuze has specific container requirements.  Currently, the Sansa Media Converter is required to transfer video, or the latest version of the Rhapsody 4 client, which includes specific support for the Fuze.

The InterVideo SMC is much faster than R4, but both systems do work.

Dear Mr. Spammer -

Trust me that all here are very sincere when we say . . .

I found this awesome program called Prism Video Converter. Open it for fr:smiley:ee and it converted all my videos for me. then just drop them into my desktop and sent them to my fuze works great. hope this helps. Highly recommend it. Took me hours to find but glad I did.

njbxgirll,

When you say you sent them to the fuze does that mean going thro smc?

My FUZE works great for converting videos on my work computer, but won’t work at all on my home.  XP on both systems?  The home system, I can pull the video from the desktop into SMC.  It will play on the screen on SMC.  when I press Convert the system starts, then the screen blinks and it ends before any conversion.  Any thoughts on what I might or might not have on my home system compared to my work one?

okay im a lil behind…will this work if i dont get videos off Rhapsody…will they work for videos that are my personla one

I use LimeWire to attain my music, so to get it onto my player I pull up the file in ‘My Documents’ and right-click and select send to: sansa fuze. It doesn’t put the music in a folder, but I’ve never had any issues with accessing my music on the device. My problem is the fact that I didn’t have any idea that putting a video on it required a special procedure so I just copied and pasted it into the ‘video’ folder.

It will no longer recognize the device on my computer, when I plug it in the screen pops up saying ‘Connected’ but it doesn’t charge and the little window I have in the corner tells me that I have a high-speed device connected to a non high-speed port and I’m unable to locate it anywhere in my computer. That being said, I’m also a complete novice when it comes to computer.

I’m able to pull it up on a a different computer but, like it has been the entire time I have owned it, none of the files will show up so I’m unable to remove the video file I copied and pasted. Any help is extremely appreciated, thank you.

Also, the file does not show up ANYWHERE on the device, so I can’t delete it that way.

Sansa Media Converter

Yeah, I installed everything. But, when I try to upload a .avi file to the SMC, it says that I have to install the correct codec, although I already installed K-Lite Codec, and it also says it may be corrupted. When I installed K-Lite Codec, the video files that were corrupted started to work, although now they won’t seem to go on the SMC…

I don’t know about the rest of you but it seems like it is like walking accross glass in bare feet to gain the ability to convert videos for use with the Sanza Fuze.  I am happy for the few of you who have had to spend (lord knows how many hours) downloading this driver and that from god knows where, but I for one am completely disgusted with Sandisk’s support.  If their player requires a proprietary tool to convert videos, they should provide one that WORKS!!

I feel very strongly that my investment in three of their players was a poor one because it really isn’t a simple task to get their Sansa Media Converter (SMC) to function without spending one hellava lot of time and energy.

This company should be made to answer for their complete lack of participation in providing a working product.
