Hi
I need some advice. My hard drive (my passport) was converted to Raw format (I don’t know how this happened). I connected the drive to an apple computer and my files are still there.
My question is, how do I retrieve the data from the drive, and can the files be accessed on a PC again? I don’t have an apple laptop.
I welcome anyone’s advice in anticipation.
Cheers

Hello,
It may be possible to still extract the data utilizing data recovery software. Western Digital does not provide data recovery software. However, there are several kinds of Data Recovery software available. If you do a web search for Data Recovery it will yield plenty of data recovery software options.
Well EaseUs has this http://www.easeus.com/resource/recover-raw-disk.htm And as a last resort I’ve read that running the command prompt to convert a FAT32 drive to NTFS may be able to fix a Raw drive. Here is a link to explain the command prompt http://support.microsoft.com/kb/214579

Simply launch Remo Recover on a system and connect your HDD. It will automatically scan and recover all files from that RAW formatted drive.
Thank you so much for your assist. Earlier I also suffered from this kind of problem. While browsing on internet, I came across Remo Recover utility, it can recover data like documents, images, audio, videos, etc. from hard drive which was converted to RAW format.
