Hey! Looking for advice on how to clone a USB drive on Windows.
My pen drive recently started having issues and is no longer accessible in normal ways. Some people on Reddit suggested that I should try to clone the failing USB drive.
The device is a SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive Go USB Type-C (128GB). Any step-by-step guidance or tool recommendations would be really appreciated.
That is a great suggestion. Getting a cloned copy ensures that the original data are safe.
If you want, follow the steps in this how-to article “ How to Clone USB Drive with Free USB Clone Tool? ” to clone the USB drive. Be noted that the storage capacity of the destination disk is larger than that of the source disk (128GB).
Use HDD Raw Copy Tool or DMDE to create a sector-by-sector image of the failing USB. Save the image to your internal drive, not another USB. Let the tool retry bad sectors and be patient. Do recovery work only from the clone, not the original.
