After upgrading to Windows 10 Smartware stopped working. Is there a work around or do I have to buy the license as the pop-up suggests?

Dear Cliff,
Thanks for the suggestion. Downloaded OK. No confronted with the
problem that WD Backup does not recognize any external hard drives; only
Dropbox! Any remedies?

Peter,

I’m not much help on not recognizing drive. Could be the cable. Search
the Knowledge Base. Others have had this problem.

WD Backup does not support the WD Elements.

You will need WD SmartWare Pro.

Dear Trancer,
Unfortunately, it appears that SmartWare does not seem to support
Elements, either. Could it be that I have a 3tb paperweight?

Thanks Cliff,
The computer recognizes the external drive, but WD Backup does not.
Something in the software. Very frustrating.
