My wife decided to re-do her install of her music in her 4GB Fuze that also has a 8GB Micro SD card installed… I formatted the player from within the players menu and all is well with the internal memory it did format! but the external 8GB micro SD card did not also format… is there a place in the Fuze’s menu to format the external card also? What i ended up doing for now was to hook it up to the computer and delete the music that was in the card… I then unhooked it from the computer and gave it the 15sec reset boot to make sure my up to date firmware “v.01.02.26A” would now be able to access the 5000 song count… Is there a better way to do this all? All other info sould be in my sig. Thanks! George
No, the Fuze won’t format the card. Only the internal memory. You also shouldn’t have to reset the player to enable the larger database. Reformatting after updating the firmware does that.
OK that’s for the reply… So just deleting the data on the card should be ok right? I use Microsoft media Player 11 and see I have a format command in that but I didn’t know if that would mess up the Fat on the card that I believe is 32 bit and needs to stay that way… Oh I’m running Vista…George

I just brought up the external card in My Computer, hit select all, and delete. Close enough to a “format” for me.
You’ll find the format commend in my computer. click on that and you’ll see a icon for the fuze, and inside it will be two folders. one for the fuze and another for the memory card. click on that one and format option will be there.
