Firmware upgrade fails for WD Green SN350 NVMe SSD 2TB

Due to the recent BSOD issue in Win11 24H2 I tried to upgrade the firmware from 33004000 to 33006000 using the WD Dashboard. However, I’m repeatedly getting a “firmware update failed” error.
I generated a report thru Dashboard, and the log says:

Sun Feb 9 22:26:03 2025 0xc5059e8 Warning: – Failed to download “https://wddashboarddownloads.wdc.com/wdDashboard/firmware/WD_Green_SN350_2TB/33006000/33006000.fluf” : “Error transferring https://wddashboarddownloads.wdc.com/wdDashboard/firmware/WD_Green_SN350_2TB/33006000/33006000.fluf - server replied: Forbidden”

Tried to manually download the firmware file at https://wddashboarddownloads.wdc.com/wdDashboard/firmware/WD_Green_SN350_2TB/33006000/33006000.fluf on my browser but a “forbidden” error appearred. What the hell?

Hey @DaveTheBrave

The 403 Forbidden error likely means the firmware isn’t available yet, restricted, or there’s an issue on WD’s end. Best option is to reach out to WD Support and check if the update is live or if they can provide a manual download.

In the meantime:

  • Make sure WD Dashboard is up to date and try again.
  • Try a different network or VPN in case it’s blocked.

Thanks @helly. I reached out to WD support via email.
Connecting via VPN didn’t do the trick.

I have a couple of SN350 SSD 2TB and both run Windows 11 fine. One is on a Skylake machine and one is on a 9th gen machine. I have an SN580 2TB in my Dell XPS 15.
